Into Plane APSCO Facility

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

The project is to design and build a high-quality facility that will support the operation and maintenance team of APSCO. Arabian Petroleum Supply Company(APSCO) is one of the world's leading aviation fuel suppliers for domestic and international airplanes in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The project includes one building for Operations & Maintenance for working staff and, double heighted bay for service maintenance of trucks, shaded truck parking for fueling trucks and truck washing area, The building is designed with efficient HVAC mechanical systems: All mechanical and electrical systems of the building were designed and specified to meet high level of energy efficiency with ASHRAE 90.1 compliance.

The project is pursuing LEED V4 BD+C and expected to be certified by the end of 2021. The project also includes 150 kW solar PV system installed on the rooftop of the truck's parking sheds. In addition to that, two units of 44 kW EV charging stations are installed in the parking to enable using electrically powered fuel dispensing trucks.

Major energy savings were achieved during the design including cancelling high power exhaust fans in the maintenance bay area after studying the dependence on natural ventilation instead. Based on the dialux study, the wattage requirements of the outdoor lighting have been considerably reduced.
